A tragic incident occurred in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, as a middle-aged man was found dead after allegedly taking his own life.
The unfortunate event took place on Monday morning in the L. Adisa area of Akinyele Local Government, according to reports from Punch.
Eyewitnesses discovered the deceased hanging from a tree in a bush behind the World Oil Petro Station, along the Ibadan-Oyo Expressway. However, as of the time of this report, the circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear.
Security agencies, including the Nigeria Police Force, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and the Western Security Network (Operation Amotekun), have since arrived at the scene to evacuate the body.
When contacted, Oyo State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Adewale Osifeso, confirmed the incident and stated that an investigation is underway.
"The matter is undergoing investigation. Updates will be provided accordingly," Osifeso assured.
The incident has sparked concerns, with authorities urging the public to remain calm as they work to determine the cause of death.
