Nigerian singer Abdulazeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, has broken his silence after being officially cleared of any involvement in the tragic death of fellow artist Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, widely known as Mohbad.
On February 25, 2025, a court ruling found Naira Marley, along with socialite Sam Larry, singer Prime Boy, and others, not guilty in Mohbad’s case. This decision came after months of speculation, accusations, and legal proceedings.
Following the court’s verdict, Naira Marley took to his official X (formerly Twitter) page to share his emotions and reflect on the traumatic experience of being falsely accused.
In his statement, he acknowledged that while he and his Marlians team were not perfect and had made mistakes, those missteps were never intentional. Instead, he described them as part of their growth and learning process.
The singer also revealed that he and Mohbad had resolved their differences before the tragic incident, understanding each other beyond public disputes and misunderstandings. Despite this, he expressed deep pain and disappointment that some individuals who knew the truth still pointed fingers at him after Mohbad’s passing.
Naira Marley questioned why many people remained silent when they could have spoken up earlier, potentially preventing the misinformation and emotional turmoil that followed Mohbad’s death. He stressed that if the truth had been revealed from the beginning, Mohbad’s family could have found closure sooner, and the late singer would have been allowed to rest in peace without unnecessary controversies.
With the legal battle now behind him, Naira Marley looks to move forward, hoping for healing and clarity in the wake of Mohbad’s tragic passing.
