Neymar Junior has finally opened his goal account since rejoining Santos, expressing gratitude to his teammates after leading the club to a 3-1 victory over Água Santa on Sunday.
The 33-year-old forward, who returned to his boyhood club as a free agent following the termination of his contract with Al-Hilal, had struggled to make an impact in his first three matches. However, he found his rhythm in the latest fixture, winning and converting a penalty after a signature slalom dribble. Neymar also registered an assist, setting up Guilherme for Santos' third goal.
Following the match, the Brazilian star celebrated the win on Instagram, writing: “A very important win… Congrats team!!! Let’s go SANTOS.”
With his confidence on the rise, Neymar is expected to feature again when Santos take on EC Noroeste on Wednesday.
