Obafemi Owode LG Chairman, Amb. Ogunsola, Gets Recognition for Agricultural Development


The Executives Chairman, Obafemi Owode Local Government, Amb. Adesina 'Lanre Ogunsola, on Friday received an honour  as the Grand Patron of Commodity Alliance Forum, CAF in his office, Owode-Egba.

The appointment was given to the council boss in recognition of his unwavering commitments towards Agricultural Development in Obafemi Owode Local Government, as they believe in the leadership wheel and vision in guiding the efforts and ensuring the success of the CAF initiative across the council area.

Amb.Ogunsola expressed appreciation to the forum for taking time in observing the steps and programs of his administration in the area of Agricultural Development, as we know that Obafemi Owode is an industrial hub of the state with the proximity to Lagos and Oyo State and prominent in production of Rice and Cassava.
He however encouraged the CAF, as he earmarked 2 plots of land as their office headquarter in obafemi owode local government,in the pursuit of their aims and objectives in promoting food security and creating jobs for the farmers.

Earlier, Alhaji Kamorudeen Shokunbi,state Chairman, Ogun State Commodity Alliance Forum(CAF) explained that the forum is an arm of the Federal Government of Nigeria, FGN, Ogun State Government, OGSG, International Fund for Agricultural Development, IFAD, Value Chain Development Program(VCDP)which was established to serve as an exit strategy for the program in order to sustain and maintain the aims and objectives of the project in promoting adequate job creation and food security in our country.

He stressed that the program has supported not less than 5000 farmers in Obafemi Owode Local Government, the support which cut across all areas and aspects of Agricultural activities like capacity building, good agronomic practices, training and also construction of processing centres within the council area and has helped all practicing farmers in IFAD, VCDP, within the local government to become more knowledgeable in agricultural production practices, processing and marketing. 

Furthermore, Alhaji Shokunbi disclosed that the  reason for appointing the Executive chairman  as Patron of CAF is to explore the expertise and wealth of experience in helping to navigate the local government landscape and ensuring that their initiative are aligned with the needs and priorities of the local community
.
Similarly, the Executive Chairman inspected Young Agro Company headed by a renowned farmer, Mr Johnson Ajibola where he expressed happiness on the landmark achievement of the company. 
The council boss said," I am not surprised Young Agro is striving, when remembering where you started,I am highly proud of you and I believe this is an example to all youths for better engagement."while he also seized the opportunity to interact with other farmers and assured them of his desire to assist them at all time.
