Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly initiated discussions with Vinicius Junior’s camp after the Brazilian forward rejected Real Madrid’s latest contract renewal offer.
Negotiations between Madrid and Vinicius took place two weeks ago, but the 24-year-old turned down the proposal, believing the financial terms undervalue his contributions. Meanwhile, Saudi Arabian officials have entered the fray, allegedly presenting a jaw-dropping €1 billion (£834m) offer over five years—an amount that could lure the winger away from the Santiago Bernabéu.
According to Sky Sports, PSG have held informal talks with Vinicius’ representatives while keeping a close eye on the unfolding situation. The French champions see him as a potential marquee signing, particularly in the wake of Kylian Mbappé’s departure.
Despite being under contract at Madrid until June 2027, tensions within the squad are reportedly rising. Senior players, including Luka Modric, are said to be frustrated with Vinicius’ defensive work rate and frequent clashes with referees. This has fueled speculation that some within the club may be open to a sale, especially with Saudi clubs reportedly preparing a €300m (£250m) bid.
However, Real Madrid remain determined to keep their star winger, with club president Florentino Perez still considering him a cornerstone of the club’s future. An improved contract offer could still be on the table to persuade Vinicius to stay.
