Popular Nigerian singer Davido has shared insights into his relationship with his wife, Chioma, revealing how long they lived together before tying the knot.
Speaking on The Bootleg Kev Podcast, Davido explained that he met Chioma during his third year in university, and their bond grew stronger over time. He disclosed that they cohabited for eight years before eventually getting married.
The award-winning artist emphasized that their long-term friendship, shared experiences, and deep understanding of each other made the transition to marriage effortless.
“My partner and I had been living together for a long time before getting married,” he said. “I met her in my third year in college, and we moved in together quite early—about eight years before we got married.”
Davido also praised Chioma for her unwavering support, especially given the demands of his career.
“Throughout our time together, I was constantly on the road, touring. She understood my passion for music and knew that I was happiest when working. At the same time, she loves being in the kitchen,” he shared.
Their deep connection and mutual support ultimately solidified his decision to spend his life with her.
