Renowned Nigerian media personality Frank Edoho has spoken out on the heated contract dispute between gospel singer Mercy Chinwo and her former record label boss, Ezekiel Onyedikachukwu, popularly known as Eezee Tee.
In a video shared on Instagram on Thursday, March 20, 2025, Edoho urged Nigerians to rely on verified facts rather than emotions, revealing that two independent audits confirmed that Eezee Tee owed Mercy Chinwo money.
According to Edoho, the first audit was conducted in 2023 in the presence of a mediator, Apostle Anslem Madubuko, along with Mercy Chinwo, her husband Pastor Blessed, and Eezee Tee. The findings reportedly revealed that Eezee Tee owed Mercy Chinwo a significant amount, leading to an agreement for repayment in installments. However, due to Eezee Tee’s delays and non-compliance, the auditing firm eventually withdrew from the case.
A second audit, this time conducted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), also uncovered financial irregularities in Eezee Tee’s records, further confirming that Mercy Chinwo was indeed owed money.
Edoho dismissed speculations that Mercy Chinwo was avoiding an audit, clarifying that the process was transparent and free of coercion or violence. He also referenced another gospel artiste, Judikay, who reportedly carried out her own audit and discovered similar financial inconsistencies within Eezee Tee’s label.
The media personality emphasized the need for objectivity, warning against letting emotions cloud judgment.
“Non-Nigerians believe Nigerians prefer narratives over facts, and I find that to be somewhat true. In this case, let’s focus on verified information rather than feelings,” he stated.
Edoho’s comments have sparked debate online, with some social media users expressing skepticism, while others sought further clarification on the controversy surrounding Mercy Chinwo’s contract with Eezee Tee.
As the dispute continues to unfold, many await an official statement from both parties to shed more light on the situation.
