The City Boy movement, through the office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagement, had kick-started a food outreach programme targeting over 100,000 citizens in Southwest.
The food outreach programme in Southwest kicked off in Ogun State on Tuesday with over 1000 beneficiaries in attendance.
Speaking at the event, the SSA to the President on Community Engagement, Mrs Moremi Ojodu, declared that the food outreach is part of President Bola Hamed Tinubu's kind gestures to show love to the citizens, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan and Lent fasting.
Ojodu maintained that the President admonished Nigerians to embrace unity for nation-building.
She added that outreach is to ensure that citizens have a sense of belonging, noting that President Tinubu's policy is targeted at all-inclusive governance.
She also explained that Tinubu doing everything to ensure that each life is transformed.
"We are looking out to over 50,000 families, and we are looking, in Southwest targeting 100,000 citizens, the same programme is going around in North, we want to tell people that they should continue to maintain peace and extend communal love".
"Each of our boxes can feed a family of four, conveniently, they should show love during this period of spiritual healing"
Also speaking as the Principal Secretary of the City Boy Movement, Hajia Zainat Indris affirmed that the food outreach programme is not just ongoing in Ogun but across the six geopolitical zones.
She posited that the ongoing food outreach programme is done based on the love that President Bola Tinubu and his son Setin Tinubu have for the country's citizens.
"The President is a loving person, and his son too is a very kind-hearted person they're doing this in this spiritual time, in this plenty time getting across to both Muslims and Christians reaching out in their own very little way, what a better time to reach out to the citizens of Nigeria".
"This is not just going on in Ogun state; it's going in the entire nation, the six geopolitical zones; they are flagging off Southwest food distribution here in Ogun. This is significant that they love their citizens with all their heart; they have them in mind at every time and way, especially during this length and Ramadan period".
Ojomo Taiwo, the National Executive of the City Boy movement, described President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a generous person l, who cares for the good of humanity and also rekindles the hope of Nigerians.
He noted the City Boy movement for the people and youth engagement.
" Tinubu actually cares for humanity; he cares for the grassroots, so basically Mr president and Mr Seyi Tinubu is the leader of that lead hope youth engagement and city Boy movement. So, he has actually deemed it fit to give out food packages to the Christian and Muslim communities during the fasting period.
"It started like last week he has been to some Northern states, he has been toasting, he has been to Niger state, he has been to Kano, and yesterday he was in Sokoto, so I think this time is the turn of Southwest and we are launching in ogun state basically, after Ogun state we are going to go to Osun state, from Osun state to Ibadan, from Ibadan down to Lagos state, from Lagos state to Ekiti and Ondo".
