Your recent write-up on Senator Solomon Adeola (Yayi) is a classic example of political mudslinging—long on rhetoric but short on facts. It is clear that as the election season approaches, some individuals will stop at nothing to discredit those making significant impacts. However, let’s set the record straight.
First, the issue of Senator Yayi’s origin is a tired and baseless argument. Those who are well-versed in history understand the movement and settlements of the Isaga people due to historical conflicts like the Dahomean war. To weaponize this narrative for political gain shows a lack of genuine concern for the pressing needs of Ogun State residents.
More importantly, governance is about impact, not birthplace. The people of Ogun West, and indeed the entire Ogun State, have witnessed tangible development projects championed by Senator Yayi. These projects speak louder than the misplaced sentiments you have tried to stir. Roads, schools, empowerment programs, and community interventions have transformed many lives. Ask those who have directly benefited from his initiatives whether they care more about his roots or the change he has brought to their lives.
Furthermore, you claim that Senator Yayi is overstepping, overhyping, and overreaching. But if being proactive in bringing development to the people is a crime, then he is guilty as charged. The federal allocations you referenced did not implement themselves. It takes strategic positioning, influence, and dedication to attract such projects to a constituency. If this were so easy, why aren’t others replicating the same impact?
Your piece reeks of political bias rather than a genuine concern for the people. If your principal, whom you so desperately try to defend, has done anything substantial for the people, let his works speak for him. Instead of engaging in baseless attacks, why not showcase what your preferred candidate has done or intends to do?
The hallmark of leadership is delivering results, not engaging in smear campaigns. Yayi and other APC representatives have been complementing the great works of our Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, in ensuring that Ogun State progresses. This is what truly matters to the people—development, not political pettiness.
Your attempt to discredit Senator Yayi is not only weak but also a disservice to the good people of Ogun State who appreciate his efforts. The Bible says in John 9:25, ‘One thing I do know. I was blind but now I see.’ Those who have benefited from Yayi’s projects can attest to the transformation in their lives. The people are not interested in your diatribe; they want action, and Senator Yayi is delivering.
I challenge you to abandon the path of baseless criticism and focus on meaningful contributions. If you believe there is a better alternative, let their works speak. Until then, Yayi’s impact will continue to overshadow these politically motivated attacks.
