AASG trusts the choice of Governor Okowa, being a collected, detribalised patriot, purveyor of morals and a poster personality; which means that, the group believes he's going to add value to the realization of the mandate.
In a statement signed by AASG's National Director for Media & Publicity, Olusegun Olukoga, the group expresses satisfaction that, Governor Okowa's emergence did not generate any negative vibes within and outside the party, which testified to the democratic approach the party adopted to come to that conclusion.
"We have seen that the party and its flag bearer, Alhaji Atiku painstakingly engaged necessary stakeholders before announcing Governor Okowa; this tells us that, the PDP has again gotten it right in a bid to reposition itself to returning to Aso Rock, for the good of all Nigerians"
"AASG believes the joint ticket of former vice-president Atiku Abubakar and Governor Ifeanyi Okowa will rebuild the confidence of Nigerians to trust PDP with their votes, in order to address the economy, security and political challenges currently bedeviling the country."
The statement further states that, Okowa's candidacy will add enormous electoral value to the PDP, noting that, the Delta Governor has proven to be a worthy choice due to his administrative, political and social prowess, having served at various capacity within the party structure since 1998. We are proud of him, and believes Atiku's plan to rebuild the economy will be actualized with his competence to creatively contribute to the manifesto and drive for a new Nigeria.
"AASG urges Okowa, being an astute administrator, sagacious politician, brilliant physician, gentle personality and prudent resource manager, to bring to bear his wealth of political and work experience to support Alhaji Atiku Abubakar 5-point policy priorities to reality, which include the following: uniting the country, tackling insecurity, rebuilding the national economy, promoting a 21st century education reforms and devolution of more resources and responsibilities to the states."
AASG is optimistic that Okowa's candidacy will in no small measure push the PDP to electoral victory in the 2023 presidential elections. The statement concludes.
