As part of activities marking the 2022 Democracy Day, People's Democratic Party (PDP), Ogun Central Senatorial Candidate, Olumide Aderinokun embarked on a 'walk for democracy' with members of his constituency.
The walk which started at the skating ground, Panseke Abeokuta, to Ita-Eko area as well as other major streets within Abeokuta metropolis; the walk, however terminated at the Itoku market, where free fuel were dispensed to motorcyclists popularly referred known as Okada riders, at an independent fuel station, to celebrate the day.
Speaking on behalf of the sponsor, a member of the party's State Executive Council, Sunkanmi Oyejide noted that, the gesture is a reassurance that with PDP at the helms of affair, life would be better for the citizens.
Oyejide, who is also the Youth Leader of the party, maintained that one of the cardinal points in MKO Abiola 1993 manifesto was the development of the people and bringing the citizens out of poverty, which according to him, is what the PDP epitomizes.
"For us in PDP, we are celebrating democracy day, and one of us, Chief Olumide Aderinokun has put up an event dubbed 'a walk for democracy' in major areas within Abeokuta metropolis.
"Today, we have been to the family house of the late Chief MKO Abiola, to identify with the family. One of the program for today is the free fuel for Okada riders in Ogun central senatorial district.
"This is just to assure our people that with PDP at the helms of affair, life will be better for the people and we are calling on them to vote for PDP candidates across board, from the state assembly, to the federal representatives, senatorial, governorship and Presidential at the 2023 general elections", he added
