BE CALM, IT'S A TEMPORARY SETBACK TO BE SORTED ', PDP CANDIDATE ATOBATELE ASSURES SUPPORTERS

The recognized candidate of the People's Democratic Party, PDP Hon. Lukmon Atobatele, vying to represent Abeokuta South 1 State Constituency has urged his teeming supporters to be calm and steadfast describing the judgement of the Federal High Court sitting in Abeokuta, as a temporary setback which would be sorted.

Atobatele who was reacting to the judgement of the Court declaring Solomon Enilolobo as a candidate of the Party, said 'no legality can stand on illegality".

He said, "the electoral act was clear on the conduct of Party Primaries which in itself is a party affair".

Atobatele noted that the process that brought in the first candidate of the Party Hon. Sunday Sodipe who stepped down for him, was conducted by the National body of the PDP and it followed due process which was duly monitored by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC and security agencies.

He said, it was thus strange to uphold a faulty primary conducted by the aspirant and his cohorts, without the input of the National body who unilaterally is responsible for it's own affairs.

According to him, "this is not the end of the issue, the legal department of the Party is already working on how best to approach the matter. I would only enjoin our party faithfuls and supporters to be calm and be getting ready for the campaign proper ".

"This is a temporary setback which must not dampen the spirit of our people as we are on top of the matter".

"The people are waiting for us to rescue them from the misrule and the sufferings presently being experienced, thus we can not afford to let them down" Atobatele said.
