FRSC celebrates 35th anniversary with 15 km road walk in Ogun

The Ogun Command of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) on Saturday embarked on a 15km road walk to commemorate the 35th year establishment of the corps.


The FRSC officials in the state began the road walk at 7:30am from the command's headquarter, Ibara Housing, through Oke Ilewo, Pansheke, Agbeloba, Akin Olugbade and Sokori area in Abeokuta metropolis.


Speaking to newsmen after the walk, FRSC Sector Commander in the state, Mr Ahmed Umar,  said the walk was a form of keeping fit and to also let the world know that FRSC had clocked 35 years.

Umar used the occasion to appeal to motorists to also cooperate with the FRSC by obeying simple traffic rules and regulations.


He cautioned motorist against taking substances that could blur their vision while driving, saying they should be mindful of how to use the road and also respect other road users.


The sector commander stated that the FRSC in the state had put measures in place to reduce crashes on the highways especially the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

He added that officers of the FRSC had continued to embark on trainings on how best to manage traffic and to effectively reduce road accidents in the state.

Umar stated that the command had also put in place measures to sensitise transport union drivers in the state as well as articulated vehicles drivers and owners on how to behave on the highways.
