Governor Dapo Abiodun's liaison officer in Abeokuta North local government, Hon Wale Bello on Thursday commended the Ogun State Government for remodelling the stadium.
Bello gave the commendation during Premier Grammer School Model Nursery and Primary inter-house sport, held at the school premises ayetoro road Abeokuta Ogun State Capital.
Wale Bello said he was surprised by the quality of work, saying that the transformation at the stadium was beyond what words could explain.
He noted that any investment in sporting infrastructure as was being done by the state government would surely make the state a destination for sporting activities and boost socio-economic activities.
According to him"If we look at it very well, the governor of ogun state have been a sport lover, you can see the way he turn around the stadium of the state, for many years, since Ewang was the military governor of ogun state , nothing as been done at MKO Abiola international stadium, but you can see how he turn everything around .
"Everybody is happy and want to be at the stadium now, spectators fill safe , gone are the days when VIP where only the people under the canopy but today his Excellency had made it easier for us .
"He's a sport lover, and he has been giving us the support from primary school to secondary school .
"There was a time a school emerge as the best football school in the state, because the then governor did not give full support to the sport in the state , that school could not represent the state at Akwa Ibom for chess competition.
"This time around we have a governor who is a sport lover who has been there for everything."
He therefore advised younger once to remember those who discovered them in future.
He said " by the time they become athlete representing the country , majority of them forget those who discovered them , if they were not discovered at the primary and secondary level, they may not be able to bring that hidden talents in them . They must not forget those who discovered them ".
