The Nigerian Labour Congress has today hold a thanksgiving service at the African Church Directorate of Missions Evangelism, Solution Camp Ori-Oke Iyanu Abeokuta, Ogun State as part of the activities lined up to mark May Day celebration.
The NLC Chairman, Comrade Hammed Benco Ademola, led the state delegation to the thanksgiving ceremony , explained that it was a special thanksgiving service planned to raise awareness prior to the May Day celebration.
Comrade Ademola said the labour movement, organized labour and the government of Ogun state will have a reason to exchange speeches and at the end of the day.
"We are expecting His Exellency to give us something as a take home that will put smile on the faces of workers of our dear state.
"We have baglog of demands before him and he knows at the same time the 40% increase is there. What we want from him now, by tomorrow morning we want him to pronounce something good.
He therefore charged Ogun state workers to be resolute, prayerful and put their trust in the union.
According to him" they have given us the mandate to lead them and they must have it in mind that we cannot lead them astray.
"We are going to give them purposeful, dividend and oriented leadership. We are going to engage any government to the demand of workers" he said.
