Subsidy Removal: Reframe From Interfering In Tinubu's Administration- APC Chieftain Warns Garba Shehu

Bola Ahmed Tinubu's presidential campaign supporter, Alhaji Abdulwahab Korede Quadri, has sent a strong warning to the former Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, Garba Shehu, to desist from interfering with Tinubu's decision on subsidy.

Quadri stated that if Buhari had removed fuel subsidy during his last days in office, Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) would have lost the election.

In a statement he signed, Quadri urged Shehu to refrain from interfering with the current administration, emphasizing that positive outcomes would soon emerge from Tinubu's removal of fuel subsidy.

He expressed confidence that the government would address any challenges resulting from this decision to minimize its impact on Nigerians.

Quadri further called on Shehu to maintain a distance from the present administration, allowing it to concentrate on delivering the promised benefits of democracy to everyone.

"My attention has been drawn to a statement made by the ex-presidential spokesperson, Garba Shehu, titled: 'Why did it take the new Tinubu/Shettima Presidency weeks to remove the petrol subsidy when Buhari didn't do so for years?'

"It must be on record that former President Muhammadu Buhari, after the expiration of his administration, has not reappointed Garba Shehu as his spokesperson, and doing so may generate mixed reactions among the citizens.

"It has also been established that some sections of the past administration frustrated Bola Ahmed Tinubu's journey to become the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, with naira scarcity and some others.

"Similarly, if the deliberate redesigning of the Naira did not cause the electoral victory of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, I then wonder how the subsidy removal by the past administration would have caused the 'divine' electoral victory of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

"I am, however, urging Garba Shehu not to distract the Tinubu/Shettima-led administration from the onerous tasks facing them and the nation in their quest to deliver dividends of democracy to all Nigerians.

"Let me, however, reassure Nigerians that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu would do everything within his reach to address all lingering issues and challenges occasioned by the subsidy removal, which has caused untold hardship on Nigerians." he said.
