FUNAAB Students Union To Celebrates 33Years of Excellence with Ambitious Scholarship Initiative

In a momentous milestone, the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) Student Union is gearing up to mark the 33rd anniversary of academic excellence and progress.

 The union has unveiled plans to celebrate this remarkable achievement by awarding scholarships to 33 deserving students base on academic performance.

This was disclosed  by the President of the Students Union Government, TIJANI Habeebullahi during a press conference held to commemorate the student union  anniversary.

He expressed deep appreciation to the Vice Chancellor of the University Prof. Kehinde Olusola for steering the institution towards success, highlighted the success of the recently concluded convocation ceremony and project commissioning.


He added that the celebration is scheduled to take place in September 2023 and will encompass a diverse range of projects, programs, and interventions.

Notable projects include the construction of a 500-capacity pavilion/multipurpose shed, as well as the creation of nine eco-brick pavements to enhance the campus infrastructure.

The event will also feature programs such as career and entrepreneurship development workshops, a hall of fame induction, and community service activities.

The student leaders have also secured vital interventions to empower their fellow students. 

These include facilitating grants and support schemes for student business owners, offering scholarships for in-demand 21st-century skills, providing internship opportunities and job placements for graduates, and extending scholarships to indigent and high-performing students.

The student union President also highlighted the proactive collaboration between the student union and the university's management, ensuring that necessary resources are readily available to bring these ambitious plans to reality. 

The student leaders  called  on the Governor of Ogun State Prince Dapo Abiodun to address the state of Camp- Alabata Road, emphasizing its importance for students and the local community.

His words" The scholarship will be centered on 33 students who will be carefully selected based on their academic performance and also empowered people who are into business and been given a start up fund."
