100 days in office: Reps member, Afolabi Afuape empowers Over 300 constituents

In marking his first 100 days in office, Hon. Afolabi Moruf Afuape, a member of House of Representatives,  representing Abeokuta South Federal Constituency Ogun at the National Assembly has empowered  over 300 youths and women in his constituency.

Hon. Afuape has always been committed to the upliftment of his constituency, and this occasion provided an opportunity for him to reaffirm that commitment. 

One of the key highlights of the day was the empowerment of 100 individuals who had received training in solar system installation and maintenance. These individuals were presented with starter kits, ensuring they are well-equipped to excel in their field.
Speaking during distribution of items in Abeokuta on Tuesday, Hon. Afolabi Moruf Afuape emphasized the need for vocational training and the development of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) as a means to combat unemployment and bolster economic growth. 

He noted, "The era of white-collar jobs is gone. We cannot rely solely on our certificates anymore; we must think outside the box to create opportunities that can put food on our tables."

According to him "We have empowered over 300 constituent, we have vocational training for over 50 people, we have deep freezer for about 20 people, we have sawing machine , we have hair drier, we have grinding machine, all going to about 100, we are also supporting small and medium scale businesses  with some money and that's for another 150 people. Today ,  we having over 300 that we empower within our 100days in office."


The lawmaker further highlighted the importance of empowering constituents to be self-reliant.

 "They elected us to make an impact, and I want to make this a regular occurrence."

One of the beneficiaries Mustapha Adewale, expressed his gratitude and  acknowledged that this initiative is a resounding applause to Engineer Afolabi and a remarkable boon to the local youth. 

He emphasized that such endeavours are essential in curbing the scourge of unemployment and creating a skilled workforce that can contribute to the community's growth.
