Adekunle Soyombo Foundation advises on developing youth to increase Nigeria's fortunes, plans basketball tournament

Stakeholders in the Nigerian project has been advised to pay more attention to youth development and empowerment, as a way to improve the country’s fortunes.

The advice was given by Mr Adekunle Soyombo who is the Chairman and founder of the Adekunle Soyombo Foundation, ASF, while informing the public, that the not-for-profit group is set to sponsor a catch-them-young basketball tournament in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Mr Soyombo explained that the ASF through the Royal Basketball Academy, RBA is coming up with the 2nd edition of the Under 16 male and female basketball championship which will kickstart on the 26th of November, 2023.

He said the tournament would identify male and female talents in the sporting event and support them to prepare for a professional life.

Mr Soyombo who explained that the ASF is committed to youth development, said “the country is not tapping the potentialities of its youth who are vibrant and full of ideas”.

According to him, “it is not a surprise that Nigeria as a country is doing so well in the entertainment world today, through its various young artists whose musicals are well played and remunerated. Our sports is not bad and can be better”, he said.

“All hands must be on deck to develop and improve our youths who are the labour force of this nation”.

Mr Soyombo promised that the basketball tournament would be fun and full of many attractions specially for the teens of Abeokuta.
