Prof.Chinedum Peace Babalola disclosed this during a press conference held on Sunday as part of the lead-up to the 5th convocation of the University.
Prof. Babalola explained that the university places a strong emphasis on entrepreneurship, ensuring that all graduates undergo mandatory programs designed to develop their entrepreneurial skills in their chosen vocations.
She added that after the successful completion of the programs, students receive certificates in addition to their academic degrees.
"We are raising business entrepreneurs and inventors and not just graduates who are seeking for white-collar jobs out there", she stated
According to her, the upcoming 5th convocation will see a total of 91 graduands receiving their first degrees in various academic disciplines. Among them, 10 will be honoured with First Class Honours, 49 with Second Class Upper Division, 26 with Second Class Lower Division, and six in the Third Class Division.
The Vice Chancellor also said Miss Ezekwem Adachukwu Michelle earned the distinction of being the overall best graduating student for the class of 2022/2023, boasting an impressive CGPA of 4.91.
She added that the convocation events are set to include a lecture delivered by Prof. Toyin Falola, an African Historian from the University of Texas, a Night of Drama and Cultural Display, and a Thanksgiving Service led by Right Reverend Collins Olufemi Babalola.
"Dignitaries expected to attend the convocation include the Founder and Chancellor of Chrisland University, High Chief Dr. (Mrs.) Winifred Awosika, Pro-Chancellor Prof. Ayodeji Olukoju, and others."
In terms of academic offerings, the Vice-Chancellor stated that all academic programs in the university's four colleges have received full accreditation from the National Universities Commission (NUC) and relevant professional bodies.
According to her , Chrisland University stands out as the only institution in Africa offering a Doctorate Degree in Physiotherapy.
The Vice Chancellor added that the institution remains committed to maintain an environment of academic excellence, collaborating with security agencies to ensure a safe and conducive learning atmosphere.
