The drainage problem in the region has been a recurring concern for residents, leading to devastating floods during the rainy season.
The Governor emphasized the importance of developing a detailed drainage master plan that would cover the entire area.
Governor Abiodun pointed out that with a well-designed drainage master plan and proper channelization of rivers, the region could effectively manage excess water flow and prevent it from inundating residential areas.
His words "There's a drainage problem, there's a need to ensure that we have a drainage master plan for the entire area. With proper drainage master plan and the right channelization of our rivers, we can ensure that water is appropriately guided into the lagoon without flowing back into our residences."
The Ministers of State for Environment and his counterpart in Water Resources and Sanitation, Dr. Iziaq Kunle Salako and Professor Joseph Ustev, in company of the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, visited the flooding in Isheri North community in Ifo Local Government Area of the state.
A resident, Engr Omigbodun urged the federal government to follow the laws establishing River Basins Development Authority, saying that companies engaging in Fish Farming should not be there.
