Ogun NUJ Secretariat Set for Revamp as Ministry of Works Steps In

The  Press Centre of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ogun state council is scheduled to undergo a significant renovation.

Engr. Abiodun Ogunsina, the Director of Operations at the Ogun State Public Works Agency under the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, recently inspected the deteriorating sections within the NUJ Secretariat, Iwe Irohin. He confirmed that the ministry will commence renovation work next week.

Engr. Ogunsina emphasized that this renovation is a short-term solution as part of a comprehensive overhaul of the infrastructure on the premises.

"Hopefully, by next week we will be here to unearth the surface and re-asphalt the ground hiterto damaged by the erosion occasioned by the poor drainage system in the premises.

"In the short term, this will give the premises a new lease of life but in the long term, we will need to re-channel the drainage system for the water to have easy asses to the road.

In response, the Secretary of the Union, Comrade Bunmi Adigun, expressed appreciation for the Ministry's swift response and urged that the Ministry's various efforts to improve the state's roads should receive adequate media coverage.

He noted that the exploit of the Ministry in undertaking various palliatives on roads across the state is not without notice, saying that it must be complimented with media coverage.

"We appreciate everything you are doing in the state. But the citizens have to know your exploits, that is where we come in.

"So, we can work together mutually to achieve alot. Thanks for coming to our rescue on our secretariat", Adigun said
