Yayi Movement In Owu Community mourns Soleye, Opaleye

The Yayi Movement in Owu Community  has described the death of the distinguished and illustrious figures in Owu Community—Maj. Gen. Opaleye and Nigeria’s former Minister of Finance, Dr. Onaolapo Soleye as a huge loss to the nation.


While speaking with newsmen in Abeokuta on Wednesday,  the Chairman of Yayi Movement in Owu Community lsmail olawale  popularly known as Afinju commiserated with the people of Owu kingdom and the govern­ment of Ogun State over the exit of the two distinguish figures  saying  that their life  was a great example for Nigeri­ans to follow.

Olawale said Opaleye, known as the Balogun of Erunmu, Owu, Abeokuta, leaves behind a significant imprint on the community.

He also said that Dr Soleye will be remembered as a statesman, a mentor, and a role model for future generations to come. 

He said " Dr Soleye's wisdom, integrity, and dedication to public service serve as an inspiration to us all."
