Nigerian Army distributes educational items, commissions borehole in Ogun

In a demonstration of commitment to community development and fostering positive relationship, the Nigerian Army on Tuesday donated educational materials to students of Ilese Comprehensive Senior High School in Ilese Ijebu-Ode, Ogun state.

The  Commander of the 35 Artillery Brigade, Alamala Abeokuta Brigadier General Mohammed Tajudeen Aminu emphasized that the initiative aligns with the army's "Exercise Still Water" and civic endeavours. 

During his address to students, Aminu highlighted the program's aim of contributing to host communities and bolstering the country's education sector.
Brigadier General Aminu expressed the brigade's dedication to have impact in community activities, highlighting the routine exercise of selecting schools for financial assistance.

 The recent donation included textbooks, exercise books, mathematical sets and  school bags.

The commander added that the army had continued to enjoy harmonious relationship with people of the community, urging students to make judicious use of the donations.
” We are here to make donation to the school, to contribute to the development of education. I hope this little will go a long way and impact on the students.

” It is an activity to bridge the gap between the community and the Nigeria Army and we will undertake this from time to time,” he said.

As part of the gesture, Brigadier General Aminu announced support for three outstanding students, covering their WAEC and JAMB examination fees.
The Principal of the  school, Ogunbowale Olusegun Adetayo, commended the brigade for its continuous support. 

He expressed gratitude for the donations adding that the materials would be of benefit to the school and students.
Meanwhile, the Nigerian Army also inaugurated a motorised borehole donated to Olayinka area in Ilese community.
The Elese of Ilese, HRM Oba Oluremi Owolabi Obayomi expressed gratitude for the continuous support from the Nigerian Army. He lauded the cordial relationship between the officers and the community.

He urged the community to consistently ensure the borehole's optimal condition and emphasize the importance of regular maintenance.
