... says slogan can cause crisis
Oxygist reports that the popular slang “No Gree for Anybody” has already gained widespread attention.
The Nigerian police, through its spokesperson, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, warned that it could clamp down on people using the slang.
During a press briefing on Wednesday, Adejobi revealed that the police had received intelligence suggesting that the slogan had the potential to incite a revolution within the country.
“We have been informed from our intelligence that this is coming from the retributionary sector that might likely cause problems across the country.
“No dey gree for anybody is being seen as just normal talk. In the security community, we have seen it as a very dangerous slogan that can trigger crises.”
