Senator Salisu approves Solar Power installation for Ogun NUJ Secretariat

In a significant development at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Ogun State Council, Senator Shuib Salisu, representing Ogun Central Senatorial District, has approved the installation of solar power lighting at the Union secretariat.

Senator Salisu made this announcement during his courtesy visit to Ogun NUJ on Friday, where he also committed to advocate for the provision of laptops for journalists in Ogun State during the 10th Assembly.
Addressing the gathering, Senator Salisu emphasized the importance of ensuring that  Ogun State NUJ Council and its members have the necessary resources to carry out their duties effectively. 

He expressed pride in the journalistic heritage of Ogun State and pledged to prioritize engagements with journalists as critical stakeholders.

Regarding the demands presented by the union, Senator Salisu assured that he would communicate with Governor Abiodun to remind him of his commitments towards renovating the secretariat and provide the journalists' estate. 
The Senator also expressed his support for the SAS media award, recognizing the contributions of outstanding journalists during press week. 

The Senator also emphasized the significance of ensuring adequate power supply at the NUJ secretariat, citing its historical importance as the cradle of journalism.

His words " whether this place is outdated or not this place needs to have maximum power, I'm here as a Senator of journalists, because this Iwe-irohin is the cradle of journalism name" Iwe iroyin fun awon ara egba".

"I have come here today to visit the NUJ of Ogun State Council as one of the critical stakeholders in the state, I take note of your demands from Mr. Governor, judiciously , and informatively and I will find time and talk to him."
Earlier in his speech, Comrade Wale Olarenwaju, the NUJ Chairman of Ogun State Council, welcomed Senator's visit and urged him to advocate for welfare support for journalists in the state. 

He reminded the Senator of Governor Abiodun's promises during his previous visit to the council and urged him to intervene to ensure their fulfillment.
