Alake, Olowu, Pays Tribute To Towulade of Akinale, Oba Olufemi Ogunleye

The Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, has  paid tribute to Oba Ogunleye, praising his courage and determination in pursuing his education, even at an advanced age. 

The monarch disclosed this while receiving the children of Oba Ogunleye on Thursday at the Ake Palace and Olowu Palace.

Oba Gbadebo described Oba Ogunleye as a bridge builder between Owu, Ake, Gbagura, and Oke-Ona, and prayed for a reliable successor to continue his legacy.

" Oba Ogunleye who was installed as the  Ekerin Apagun Pote of Egbaland in 1994, his passing has left a void in the kingdom. 

"He was a passionate advocate for education and the welfare of his people, particularly children" he said.

Th Olowu of Owu Kingdom, Prof. Oba Saka Matemilola, also paid tribute to the late monarch, praising his dedication to tradition, education, and peaceful coexistence in the kingdom.

He said that Oba Ogunleye was a champion of education and the welfare of his people, particularly children. 

"He worked tirelessly to ensure peace and harmony in the kingdom, serving as chairman of the committee on mediation and utilizing his public relations expertise to resolve disputes.

The Secretary of the Council of Owu Chiefs , Chief Oluseyi Adediran also described the late monarch as a devoted leader who worked selflessly for the progress of his people.
