Renowned actor and movie producer Kevin Ikeduba has strongly condemned the exploitation of actors within the film industry. In a recent interview with Hip TV’s Trending, Kevin expressed his unwavering stance against compromising his integrity by exchanging movie roles for sex.
The Nollywood star voiced his frustration with the pervasive unprofessionalism in the industry, emphasizing his commitment to maintaining high standards. "The movie industry, the entertainment world is very big. What works for A may not work for B. Kevin, as people know, would rather die instead of giving a girl a role for sex," he declared passionately.
Kevin highlighted how deeply he cares about his craft, noting that encountering mediocrity on set is particularly painful for him. "I am very passionate about what I do. So most times, when I meet mediocre people on set, it hurts me. I will never do that," he affirmed.
Actress Linda Osifo, who was also a guest on the show, shared her insights on the issue. With a decade of acting experience, Osifo emphasized the importance of personal intention and integrity. "It’s not even about the industry, but life in general. Life will test you," she said, stressing that how individuals handle these tests defines them.
Reflecting on the positive changes in Nollywood, Osifo added, "Gone are the days when you had to give something in order to receive something." Her optimism about the industry's progress towards prioritizing merit over exploitation was evident.
In a surprising twist, Kevin revealed an unexpected alternative career path. When asked by the host Pascal what he would be doing if he weren’t an actor, he humorously responded, "I would be a drug baron if I wasn’t an actor."
