A couple’s intimate encounter took an unexpected turn when their SUV accidentally rolled into a river in Philadelphia, nearly turning a passionate moment into a disaster.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, August 28, near the Schuylkill River in Fairmount Park. According to police reports, the couple was engaged in a romantic moment in the backseat of their 2020 Range Rover around 4:15 a.m. when one of them unintentionally knocked the vehicle’s gear stick.
Within moments, the SUV began to move, eventually tumbling over the edge and plunging into the river, just two miles from Philadelphia City Hall. Fortunately, the quick-thinking couple managed to jump out of the vehicle before it hit the water and sank beneath the surface.
Neither of the individuals involved sustained any injuries during the incident. Police, who suspect the couple was “getting busy” when the mishap occurred, confirmed that no charges will be filed against them.
The Range Rover was successfully recovered from the river later that morning, around 9 a.m.
