It’s been six days since Nigerian artist Dammy Krane found himself behind bars, reportedly at the behest of Afrobeat superstar Davido. The detention stems from a heated defamation case that has captured the attention of fans and media alike.
The conflict between the two artists dates back to 2023, when Dammy Krane publicly accused Davido of owing him money following a music collaboration.
Tensions escalated when Krane went a step further, repeatedly alleging on social media that Davido was involved in the death of their mutual friend, Tagbo. These serious accusations led Davido to take legal action, resulting in Krane's recent arrest on charges of libel.
In a recent video, popular online activist VeryDarkMan has intervened, pleading with Davido to forgive Dammy Krane and secure his release from police custody. VeryDarkMan emphasized that Davido is not known to be an oppressor, and while the superstar’s actions were understandable given the circumstances, he believes a second chance is in order.
