#EndBadGovernanceInNigeria: Journalist Arrested in Abuja Released by Police-OXYGIST

Ayoola Babalola, a journalist arrested during the nationwide #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria protests in Abuja, has been released by the Nigeria Police Force (NPF). The 25-year-old was detained at Wuye Police Station under the Federal Capital Territory Police Command.


Babalola's arrest occurred on Saturday, and he was released around 3 pm on Sunday, having spent over 24 hours in detention.


“Yes, I have been released. I was released around 3 pm today (Sunday). The detention lasted for over 24 hours, but I’m home now. I am grateful to all who raised their voices calling for my release,” Babalola told SaharaReporters.


The Take-It-Back Movement, a civil society organization, had confirmed Babalola’s arrest in a statement and demanded his immediate release.
