Governor Ademola Adeleke marked Osun State's 33rd anniversary with a heartfelt tribute to the visionary leaders whose sacrifices made the state's creation possible. In a state broadcast on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, the Governor reflected on the journey that began in 1991, emphasizing the unity and determination that have shaped Osun's identity.
"Today, we stand together to celebrate a journey that started over three decades ago—a journey defined by resilience, determination, and a shared belief in our collective future," Adeleke declared.
He paid special tribute to the state's founding fathers, acknowledging the late Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade, and other esteemed traditional rulers, as well as political leaders like the late Chief Bola Ige and his own father, the late Senator Raji Adeleke. These figures, Adeleke noted, fought tirelessly for the recognition of Osun’s unique identity within Nigeria.
