Olumuyiwa Fajimi, has commended the Ogun State chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) for promoting sports in the state.
Fajimi praised SWAN for the recent Security Cup, which brought together various security operatives in a competitive and entertaining tournament.
The chairmanship aspirant noted that the event was a testament to SWAN's commitment to develop sports in Ogun State.
Fajimi urged SWAN to extend similar initiatives to Abeokuta North Local Government, which he hopes to lead soon.
He promised to support and partner with SWAN to promote sports development in the local government if elected.
Fajimi emphasized the importance of sports in building a healthy and vibrant community.He also highlighted the role of sports in fostering unity and social cohesion among residents.
Fajimi reiterated his commitment to make Abeokuta North Local Government a hub for sports excellence.
"I am dedicated to support the growth of sports in our local government.If I'm elected as the next Chairman of Abeokuta North Local Government my administration will be committed to provide the necessary resources and support for sports development and also ensure that our local government becomes a hub for sports excellence.
"Through my partnership with SWAN, I will create opportunities for our young athletes to thrive and promote a culture of sportsmanship that will benefit our community for generations to come."
