Nigerian singer Dammy Krane is currently being interrogated by the Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) in Abuja, as confirmed by the local police. This follows a series of explosive allegations made by Krane against fellow artist Davido. On Thursday, August 22, Krane publicly accused Davido of orchestrating his arrest, claiming that the Afrobeats star bribed the authorities to detain him on fabricated charges. According to Krane, this arrest is tied to accusations of illegal activities, including involvement with Flutterwave and cryptocurrency scams. He further warned that if any harm comes to him, Davido should be held accountable.

Sources reveal that Dammy Krane has been in the custody of the Force Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (FCID) for nearly a week. Speaking on Wednesday, August 28, FCID spokesperson Funmilayo Eguaoje clarified that Krane is not in prison but is being questioned by the cybercrime unit. Eguaoje added that while the details of his detention remain unclear, the singer is expected to be released after his statement is recorded.

“He is not in a cell,” Eguaoje confirmed. “He is with the section that is investigating the matter and is likely to be released after the interrogation. He is with the cybercrime unit, and they are recording his statement.”

The longstanding feud between Dammy Krane and Davido, which began over disputes regarding unpaid songwriting contributions and alleged sabotage of Krane’s record deal with Sony Music, has reached new heights. Davido has called Krane “ungrateful,” insisting that he received no payment for their collaborations and even supported Krane when he was homeless.

In recent weeks, Dammy Krane has intensified his attacks on Davido, taking to social media to accuse him of involvement in the 2017 death of his friend Tagbo Umeike, who reportedly died from alcohol poisoning. Davido has strongly denied these claims and has threatened to take legal action against Krane for defamation and cyberbullying.
