Three Students Abducted from Enugu State Health College in Gunmen Attack-OXYGIST

Concerns are mounting at the Enugu State College of Health Technology in Oji River after three students were reportedly abducted by gunmen on Wednesday evening.

The alarming incident took place around 7 pm when armed men, believed to be kidnappers, stormed the student residences, seizing three students without resistance. The attack has sparked widespread fear and tension within the college community.

According to a student who spoke anonymously, the kidnappers fired several shots into the air as they forced their way into the hostels, creating chaos as students fled in all directions. The source added that, in response to the terrifying event, many students have already left the campus and returned home.

"We are desperately searching for our three fellow students who are still missing. Their phones are not reachable, and we are extremely worried. The kidnappers caused panic by shooting wildly before entering the hostels," the student shared.

As of now, it remains unclear whether the abductors have made contact with the families of the victims. Efforts to confirm any communication were unsuccessful.

Additionally, there have been recent reports of unchecked cattle movements by herders around the college, leading some to fear that the kidnappers could be connected to these herdsmen.

Attempts to reach the Enugu State Police Command for comment were unsuccessful, as the Command's spokesperson, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, did not respond to calls or text messages at the time of this report.
