Actor and emerging filmmaker Lateef Adedimeji has shared his reflections on his career journey as he prepares for the premiere of his latest film, Lisabi: The Uprising. Set to debut on Netflix on September 27, the film marks a significant milestone for Adedimeji.
On Tuesday, Lateef took to Instagram to unveil the official trailer, brimming with both gratitude and excitement for the film's release. Despite the challenges faced during production, he chose to highlight the positive aspects and the many blessings he's encountered along the way.
He captioned the trailer, “With immense excitement and joy, I present the official trailer for our blockbuster movie, LISABI – The Uprising. A Netflix original @naijaonnetflix @netflixfilm. While I could detail the hurdles we overcame, today is about celebrating our blessings.

Lisabi: The Uprising is the first installment in an epic saga, with its sequel, Lisabi: A Legend is Born, slated for release in January 2025. The film explores the story of the legendary Yoruba hero Lisabi, whose actions made a profound impact on Yoruba history.
Set in the 18th century, the film chronicles the life of an Egba farmer who leads a courageous revolt against the oppressive Oyo Empire. His resistance results in the defeat of over 6,000 Oyo soldiers, leading to the Egba people's liberation after centuries of subjugation.
The film features a star-studded cast including Femi Adebayo, Odunlade Adekola, Ibrahim Itele Yekini, Ibrahim Chattah, Mo Bimpe, Eniola Ajao, Liquorose Afije, and Lateef Adedimeji himself.
