A Kano magistrate court in Gayadi Gyadi, Kumbotso Local Government Area, has remanded three suspects for their alleged role in the abduction of a 4-year-old boy.
The suspects, Hizbullah Salisu, Aliyu Abubakar, and Hassan Aliyu, stand accused of kidnapping young Muhammad Nasir, demanding an initial ransom of N10 million before eventually accepting N300,000 after negotiations.
Shockingly, Salisu, who masterminded the crime, is a cousin of the victim. Their plan unraveled when they were tracked down and arrested by Kano State police on September 7, 2024.
All three suspects face charges of conspiracy, criminal offense, and kidnapping. They have pleaded not guilty to the charges. Magistrate Rakiya Lami Sani has ordered their remand in a correctional facility, with the next court hearing scheduled for October 30, 2024.
