A Positive Turn: Dele Momodu Applauds PDP Governors for Crisis Intervention-OXYGIST

Dele Momodu, a former presidential aspirant and prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has expressed his optimism following the intervention of PDP governors in the party’s ongoing crisis. He believes this move will allow the party to shift its focus toward being a credible opposition force in Nigeria.

Momodu commended the governors for their proactive stance, calling it "a good start." The PDP Governors Forum (PDP-GF) recently directed warring party members to revert to their previous roles, a decision announced by the forum's chairman, Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, after a meeting that wrapped up early Tuesday morning.

During the meeting, Mohammed acknowledged that disagreements are a natural part of any political organization, but he assured members that these challenges can be resolved.

In an interview with Arise TV, Momodu conveyed his belief that the resolution of the internal crisis positions the PDP to better fulfill its role as a key opposition party. “If you had asked me this question yesterday, my response would have been different. I’m pleased that the PDP Governors’ Forum is finally stepping up to the plate,” he remarked.

Momodu highlighted the importance of a strong opposition at this critical time, stating, “Many Nigerians have felt uneasy as our opposition has not met expectations.” He further expressed his satisfaction with the decision to lift all suspensions within the party, indicating a move towards unity and progress.

“I’m delighted that all suspensions have been lifted,” he added, signaling hope for a more cohesive PDP moving forward.
