The tragic death of 24-year-old Priscilla Ocheme has left her family demanding justice, following claims that her boyfriend, who was arrested in connection with the case, has been released by police without a proper investigation.
Priscilla, a graduate of Madonna University, had left home to visit a male friend in Lugbe, Abuja. However, what was supposed to be a simple visit ended in heartbreak when she was later found dead with blood covering her face. The family, devastated by the loss, is calling for a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding her untimely death.
According to activist Harrison Gwamnishu, who the family contacted for help, the male friend was initially arrested after the incident was reported to the police. However, he was later freed without an autopsy being conducted, with the police accepting his claim that Priscilla's death was due to an accident.
Gwamnishu shared his frustration, stating, "The young man was arrested and detained, but no autopsy was performed on Priscilla's body, and now the suspect is walking free. The police have released him."
Screenshots of the young man's Instagram profile revealed that Priscilla had interacted with his posts before her death, though this alone does not link him to the tragedy.
Priscilla’s family is now urging authorities to take a closer look at the case, calling for a thorough investigation to uncover the truth and bring justice for their daughter.
