The Imo State Police Command has launched an orderly trial for several officers caught on video accepting bribes from commercial bus drivers. This incident came to light over the weekend when footage of a patrol officer receiving money from a driver circulated widely on social media.
ASP Henry Okoye, the command's spokesperson, confirmed that the state’s Commissioner of Police ordered the arrest of the implicated officers. In a statement released on October 17, Okoye announced that the orderly room trial has begun for the officers featured in the viral video, which was filmed in Owerri.
The officers involved have been identified as Inspector Ibrahim Nainna, Inspector Unaka Maxvirgin, Inspector Miller Ibinitta, and Sergeant Antony Alozie. Okoye assured the public that the outcomes of the proceedings would be communicated in due course.
