The Kano State Command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has announced the arrest of Umar Ibrahim, also known as Danlami Tela, a 45-year-old suspected bandit connected to high-profile kidnappings and banditry in Katsina State’s Funtua region.
NSCDC’s Public Relations Officer, Ibrahim Abdullahi, confirmed the arrest in a statement, noting the suspect’s capture took place in Hotoro Yandodo, located within Kano’s Nassarawa Local Government Area. The suspect is believed to be linked to a notorious bandit leader operating out of Funtua.
Items recovered from Ibrahim included an Android phone, three SIM cards, and an ATM card. Following the arrest, he was handed over to the Nigerian Air Force's Forward Operating Base 215 in Funtua for further investigation and appropriate action.
