Oyo State Fire Services responded promptly after receiving multiple distress calls from concerned neighbors around 2 a.m. The agency’s General Manager, Rev. Akinyemi Akinyinka, confirmed the incident, sharing that recovery and rescue efforts were immediately underway.
“We received an emergency call at about 2 a.m. regarding a building collapse at Jegede Olunloyo, Ibadan,” Akinyinka stated. “So far, 10 individuals have been recovered from the debris, and seven others have been pulled out alive. Rescue operations are ongoing as we work to ensure the safety of any remaining individuals.”
Emergency services continue their efforts at the site.
