The Super Eagles of Nigeria have faced a frustrating situation, spending over 13 hours stranded at the airport after their arrival in Libya. Nigerian striker Victor Boniface took to Twitter to share a video of the bus that Libyan authorities dispatched to pick up the team from Al Abraq Airport, humorously dubbing it the “Isakaba bus.”
Despite the arrival of the bus, the Super Eagles chose not to board. The team was rerouted to a smaller airport instead of Benghazi, just as their chartered ValueJet aircraft was nearing its destination on Sunday night. To make matters worse, the Libyan Football Federation failed to arrange any reception or transportation for the Nigerian squad, which needs to travel three hours to their hotel in Benghazi.
In his tweet, Boniface remarked, “See Isakaba bus wey them bring come yesterday. Nobody enter ooo,” highlighting the team's frustration.
