During the flag-off ceremony for the construction of Pai community road in Kwali Area Council, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike emphasized that his mission is infrastructure, not land deals. Appointed by President Bola Tinubu, Wike made it clear that his primary focus will be on developing the capital city’s infrastructure.
Speaking passionately, Wike noted that he’s committed to improving both urban and rural areas. “I want everyone to understand: I wasn’t made Minister to come here and sell land,” he asserted. “Our focus is on infrastructure—whether in the city or rural communities."
Wike also urged project contractors to accelerate the road construction timeline, adding, “If you can complete this project in under 12 months, your funds are ready.”
The former Governor of Rivers State further underscored that governance should prioritize people’s needs over party affiliations. “Good governance isn’t about PDP or APC. It’s about serving the people,” he stated, calling for a people-centric approach to leadership in the FCT.
