Yobe Police Inspector Allegedly Stabs Man to Death During Dispute-OXYGIST

A 39-year-old man, Abdulmalik Dauda, tragically lost his life after being allegedly stabbed by Police Inspector Mohammed Bulama, who is attached to the Police Mobile Force, 41 Division in Damaturu, Yobe State.


The incident occurred following a heated argument between the two men, which escalated into a physical altercation. During the confrontation, Bulama is said to have stabbed Dauda in the chest.


In a statement released by DSP Dungus Abdulkarim, the Public Relations Officer for the Yobe Police Command, the state Commissioner of Police, CP Garba Ahmed, ordered an immediate investigation into the incident. He condemned Bulama’s actions and extended his condolences to the family of the deceased.


The Commissioner also assured the public that a swift and thorough investigation will be carried out to ensure justice is served.


The statement reads: “On September 29, 2024, at approximately 6:20 PM, Inspector Mohammed Bulama, 38, engaged in a serious altercation with Abdulmalik Dauda, 39, of Pompomari Ward, Damaturu, over an unresolved transaction in the Zango area. The argument quickly escalated into a physical fight, during which Bulama allegedly stabbed Dauda in the chest. Bulama also sustained head injuries during the altercation.


“Bulama was arrested after seeking refuge at the ‘C’ Divisional Police Headquarters. The state Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has commenced a full investigation, and the inspector is currently in custody, awaiting disciplinary action and prosecution.



“The Nigeria Police Force will not tolerate any misconduct by its officers, and we are committed to ensuring that justice is served swiftly in this case.”
