AFCON 2025 Qualifiers: Super Eagles Face Travel Delay in Abidjan-OXYGIST

The Super Eagles encountered a travel hiccup in Abidjan on Friday, disrupting their journey back to Uyo following their AFCON 2025 qualifying match against Benin Republic.

Under the guidance of Augustine Eguavoen, the Nigerian side battled Benin Republic to a 1-1 draw on Thursday night at the Felix Houphouët-Boigny Stadium in Abidjan. The result kept fans on edge as the team aims to secure qualification for the continental tournament.

The team was initially scheduled to depart Abidjan at 9 a.m. local time on Friday. However, a last-minute change in travel arrangements delayed their flight. Upon departure, the team is expected to land in Lagos before proceeding to Uyo, their base for the next fixture.

Due to the travel delay, the players will miss their scheduled training session for the day, potentially impacting their preparations for their upcoming clash.

The Super Eagles will host Rwanda at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Monday. Fans are eagerly anticipating the encounter, hoping for a decisive victory that will edge the team closer to qualification for AFCON 2025.
