Bandits Attack Katsina Community, Injure Activist and Abduct His Two Wives

A wave of terror hit the Turare community in Dutsin-ma Local Government Area of Katsina State as armed bandits launched an attack on the home of well-known activist Ibrahim Hussaini Maikaita. The incident occurred on Sunday, November 3, 2024, when gunmen stormed Maikaita’s residence, shot him, and abducted his two wives.

Maikaita, a passionate advocate for good governance, has been a strong voice for reform in the region, working tirelessly to improve local conditions. His outspoken stance has made him a recognizable figure in the community, drawing support from many but also, it seems, unwanted attention.

Residents in Katsina and across the region are once again voicing their frustrations and concerns over the recurring security challenges that leave many vulnerable to such brutal attacks.
