In a statement released on Sunday by his spokesperson, Garba Shehu, Buhari praised the voters for their clear and resounding expression of confidence in both the APC and Governor Aiyedatiwa.
"The voters have spoken lucidly and loudly through the ballot box," Buhari remarked, emphasizing the importance of respecting the democratic choice made by the people.
Buhari also noted that the election result reflects the resilience of Nigeria’s democracy, a system that thrives despite the country’s size and diversity. He urged Governor Aiyedatiwa to take this mandate seriously by implementing policies that drive economic growth, tackle unemployment and inflation, and enhance social welfare programs to improve the lives of the citizens.
The former president lauded the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and law enforcement agencies for addressing some of the shortcomings observed in previous elections. He acknowledged their efforts in ensuring a smoother electoral process.
Buhari extended his best wishes to Governor Aiyedatiwa and his team, expressing hope for a successful tenure that prioritizes the well-being of the people of Ondo State.
