Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf expressed his surprise regarding the arrest of minors involved in the recent EndBadGovernance protest, noting he was unaware until their arraignment at the Federal High Court in Abuja. Speaking at the Muhammadu Buhari Special Hospital, where 76 minors were undergoing physical and mental health assessments, Governor Yusuf extended his gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for his compassion in facilitating their release.
Governor Yusuf promptly directed the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice to oversee the case upon learning of the arrests. He commended the parents of the minors for their patience and prayers, applauding their resilience throughout the challenging process.
“We remain committed to reuniting these children with their families and helping them rebuild. We’ll also support their return to education and encourage small-scale business ventures to enhance their futures,” Governor Yusuf stated.
He emphasized the administration’s dedication to reintegrating the affected minors, ensuring they have opportunities to contribute meaningfully to the state’s progress.
