Manchester United Announces Ruben Amorim as New Manager-OXYGIST

Manchester United has officially named Ruben Amorim as the club's new manager, bringing in fresh leadership and a new direction to Old Trafford. Amorim will succeed Erik ten Hag, who was dismissed last month, and he will assume his new role following a short transitional period.

The announcement, made by United on Friday, confirmed that Amorim will continue his managerial duties at Sporting Lisbon until November 11. After that, he will step into his United role, with his debut match set for November 24 against Ipswich Town.

The 39-year-old Portuguese manager has signed a contract extending until June 2027, with an option to continue for an additional year. Manchester United secured his early release from Sporting Lisbon, adding €1 million (£840,000) to his €10 million (£8.4 million) exit clause to expedite his arrival.

During this brief interim, club legend Ruud van Nistelrooy will continue managing the first team. However, there is no official confirmation yet on whether Van Nistelrooy will join Amorim's coaching team once the transition is complete.

This weekend, Manchester United will face Chelsea in a highly anticipated clash at Old Trafford, marking an important fixture in the lead-up to Amorim's debut.
